Part lookup

About PartIndex

PartIndex is a consumer catalog for people who want to see which part fits a vehicle and what retailers are asking for it, before they buy or approve a repair.

Who it is for

It is for owners who work on their own cars and trucks, and for anyone comparing a shop estimate with the parts on the shelf. You might be matching a brake pad, checking whether a fuel pump is the in-tank module or a pump alone, or seeing whether two stores are listing the same manufacturer number. You do not need a trade account, and you do not need to sign in.

The catalog is built around a vehicle: year, make, model, trim, and engine. Product lines group the parts the way a parts counter does, so you can stay inside brakes, suspension, fuel, or another line instead of scrolling a single undifferentiated list.

What it does

Choose the vehicle and a product line. PartIndex shows parts for that application, manufacturer part numbers, and prices recorded from retailers. Where a listing includes a store SKU, a fitment note, or more than one supplier, those details stay with the part so you can compare them in one place. You can filter by a name or part number, save a comparison in this browser, and open the retailer’s page when you are ready to check live stock.

Guides on the site explain the practical side of that lookup: how pad compounds differ, when a strut is a different job from a shock, how to use a VIN and an original-equipment number, what fuel-pump symptoms usually mean, how coil springs differ from hood and hatch supports, and how to read a price next to a warranty. They are general notes for owners, not a service manual for one car.

Independent, with prices from retailers

PartIndex is independent. It is not a store, and it is not owned by AutoZone, O’Reilly, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, PartsGeek, or a parts manufacturer. We do not stock the parts and we do not take payment for them. Prices shown here are retailer prices. Each price carries the date it was recorded. The retailer can change the price, the shipping, the tax, and the quantity on hand after that date. Confirm the current price, availability, and fitment on the retailer’s site or at the counter before you buy.

Some links to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy through one, PartIndex may earn a commission. That commission does not raise the price you pay. The arrangement is described on the affiliate disclosure page.

What a listing does not promise

A year, make, and model can hide more than one brake package, axle, or engine. A listing is a starting point. Match the part number, the engine, and any option the old part or the vehicle label calls out. Vehicle years, makes, models, trims, and engines on the selector come from public vehicle files, described on the vehicle data sources page. A model being selectable does not mean every part for it is in the catalog.

Imported rows, if you use the catalog import, stay in your browser. They are your file, not a listing we published.
