Privacy policy
This policy describes what PartIndex collects when you look up parts, leave a review, or follow a retailer link. It applies to carpartindex.com.
Effective November 2026.
No account is required
You can search the catalog without creating an account. PartIndex does not ask you to register, choose a password, or sign in to see parts, part numbers, or recorded prices. We do not ask for a payment card. We do not sell parts on this site.
Reviews
If you submit a review, we collect the display name you enter and the comment you enter. The display name is the name shown with the review. It does not have to be your legal name. The comment is the text of the review. Please do not include your home address, phone number, email address, or payment details in a comment. Review text may be shown publicly on the site next to the display name.
We keep a review so it can be displayed and, if needed, removed. You can ask us to remove a review you submitted by using the contact at the bottom of this page.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Review forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that helps block automated submissions. When that check runs, your browser communicates with Cloudflare. Turnstile is there to tell ordinary visitors apart from scripts that would otherwise post comments. Cloudflare describes the technical data that check processes in Cloudflare’s own privacy materials. PartIndex uses the result of the check to decide whether to accept the review. We do not use Turnstile to build a marketing profile.
Affiliate links and cookies
Some links from PartIndex to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy after using one of those links, PartIndex may earn a commission. The commission is paid by the advertising relationship, not added to your total. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
Affiliate links and the retailer sites they open can set or read cookies and similar identifiers. Those cookies can record that you arrived from PartIndex, which product you clicked, and whether a later purchase should be credited to the affiliate relationship. The cookie may be set by the retailer, by an affiliate network the retailer uses, or by both. PartIndex does not control the retailer’s own cookies, analytics, or account system once you leave this site. Their privacy policy applies on their site.
You can refuse or clear cookies in your browser. Blocking them can affect how a retailer remembers your cart or how an affiliate network attributes a visit. It does not stop you from using the part lookup on PartIndex.
What stays in this browser
Saved comparisons and catalog files you import are stored in this browser, on your device, so they are still there when you come back. That storage is local to the browser. Clearing site data for carpartindex.com removes it. PartIndex does not require an account to store those items, and other visitors do not see your saved list or your imported rows.
What we do not ask for
The lookup itself asks for a vehicle and a product line, which you select on the page. It does not ask for your name. Do not send sensitive personal information in a review comment. Server logs that a host keeps for security, such as an IP address and the page requested, may exist for a limited time so the site can operate and so abuse can be investigated. We do not use the part lookup to sell a list of visitors.
Children
PartIndex is a parts catalog for adults maintaining vehicles. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after the date of an update means the new policy is the one in effect.
