Affiliate disclosure
PartIndex may earn a commission when you click a retailer link and buy something. You do not pay more because of that commission.
The relationship
PartIndex is an independent catalog. We are not the retailer, and we do not sell the part ourselves. Some links to AutoZone, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, PartsGeek, eBay, and other retailers are affiliate links, including links arranged through advertising networks those retailers use. eBay links are eBay Partner Network links. If you follow one of those links and later make a qualifying purchase, the retailer or the network may pay PartIndex a commission.
That payment is a material connection between PartIndex and the retailer. We disclose it so you can judge the link for what it is: a way to open the retailer’s listing, which may also credit this site if you buy.
What you pay
A commission does not add a fee on top of the retailer’s price. The price you pay is the retailer’s price, plus whatever shipping, tax, core charge, or other amount that retailer shows at checkout. Using a PartIndex link does not raise that total. Skipping the link and going to the store directly does not, by itself, lower the shelf price either. Compare the offer you actually see, including pickup, shipping, and any core charge, before you decide.
What the commission does not change
A paid link does not change the part number, the fitment note, or the date on a recorded price. It also does not mean PartIndex checked the part on your vehicle. You still need to match the year, make, model, engine, and any option that changes the part, and you should read the warranty the seller states. How to do that comparison is covered in how to compare prices and warranties.
We do not control the retailer’s price, stock, shipping time, return window, or warranty service. Those can change after we record a price. Confirm them on the retailer’s page. Prices on PartIndex show the date they were recorded for that reason.
Which links
Not every outbound link is an affiliate link. A link to a public data source, for example on the vehicle data page, is a citation. Retailer links from a part comparison are the ones that may be compensated. An eBay link on a part comparison opens an eBay search through the eBay Partner Network. The search uses the part number, or the part name and vehicle when no number is listed. PartIndex does not record an eBay price for that link. Where a browser or the link markup shows a sponsored relationship, that is the same disclosure in the link itself. The retail partners link in the footer is a sponsored link.
Affiliate networks and retailers may use cookies to connect a click with a later purchase. That is described in the privacy policy.
How to read the catalog with this in mind
Use PartIndex to line up part numbers and recorded prices. Open more than one retailer when you can. Prefer the listing that matches the original-equipment number or a cross-reference you trust, with a warranty you have actually read, over a listing that is simply the first link on the page. The commission, when there is one, is paid by the advertising relationship. It is not a reason to skip the fitment check.
